ZIMMER LASER REVIEW
DESCRIPTION
Founded in Germany over 30 years ago, Zimmer manufactures the Cryo Chillers. These widely used skin cooling systems are used in over 60 countries around the world. Today the most commonly used system is the Cryo 6, which is the newest incarnation of the previous machine, the Cryo 5.
The Zimmer Cryo is an award winning technology as it is the “Editor's Choice Award for Best Stand Alone Epidermal Cooling Device” from Aesthetic Trends and Technologies.
Zimmer machines work for the following applications:
Temporary relief from injections
Minimized pain during laser procedures
Lowers risk of thermal injuries due to procedures
ARI’S THOUGHTS
Zimmer cooling machines are great for keeping patients numb and comfortable. They are typically used with the Cynosure Apogee Elite and make a considerable difference when it comes to pain management. Additionally, practitioners are pleased to find that the Zimmer machines do not require consumables.
Essentially, the new model the Cryo 6 is quite similar to the Cryo 5. The machine now comes with a glass countertop so it is possible to put items on top during treatment. The Cryo 5 is taller and skinnier.
You may be surprised to hear this, but we actually find that clinics and patients alike prefer the Cryo 5 over the Cryo6. The Cryo5 gets much colder and the treatment is more pleasant as a result.
If you are looking for a Zimmer, don’t just immediately select the Cryo6 and assume it is superior because it is the newer model. We find most people are happiest with the Cryo5 due to the fact it is a more powerful machine.
Who is Happiest with the Zimmer Brand?
Our clients that use IPL or Lasers without built-in cooling systems are the happiest with the Zimmer machines. Primarily, this product is used to accompany Cynosure systems due to the fact that they lack built in cooling systems.
What Do You Need To Know Before You Purchase a Zimmer?
If you are looking to get a good deal on a Zimmer, check the machine out yourself before purchase to ensure it is running perfectly. Also check to see when the machine has been most recently serviced.
Typically, you can expect to put about $1500 per year into your Zimmer machine. The most frequent repairs necessary are due to either gas leaking or dirt/dust that is negatively impacting the machine.
